The brightness of LED taillights is adjustable. There are several methods for adjustment.

Some models, like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, have taillights that automatically adjust brightness. These use full LED light sources and can automatically adjust the lighting intensity according to different ambient light levels.

For most vehicles, brightness can be adjusted by manually adjusting the circuit or replacing a resistor to change the current.

If the LED taillights have an adjustable power supply and controller, the brightness can be changed by adjusting these parameters. If not, consider replacing the LED bulbs with bulbs of suitable brightness.

Alternatively, adding a resistor to the circuit to limit current flow can reduce brightness, but the resistor value must be carefully calculated, and this method may reduce taillight efficiency and lifespan; proceed with caution.

Another method involves a CAN communication LED taillight brightness adjustment system and method, including a battery, body controller, and a center and rear combination light control circuit board. The body controller sends a brake light illumination command, the control module in the center and rear combination light control circuit board collects the power supply voltage information, identifies the battery voltage status, and transmits it to the drive module. The drive module then adjusts the brightness of the corresponding brake lights and turn signals based on the voltage status. When lit under low voltage conditions, it can automatically identify the power supply voltage status, accurately and quickly achieve dynamic adjustment of LED light source brightness, reasonably reduce input current, automatically protect the circuit, and control the brightness change range to avoid significant visual changes in brightness.
